Welcome to our new collab pizza series: South London Sessions. It's a love song to the local places we're lucky to have on our doorstep. Places we reckon you should go. Places that are trying to go that little bit further with what they offer, and that little bit further with the love they put into their menus and practices. Places that are our kind of places.

SESSION 1: 14.02.2022
Coal Rooms, Peckham
Coal Rooms is right at the front of Peckham Rye station. Cafe at the front, seriously impressive small plates restaurant at the back. We were lucky enough to get a private tasting menu from head chef Ben, as we figured out what a pizza from them would taste and feel like. It ended up tasting and feeling pretty marvellous. Seriously, go check them out for yourselves.

SESSION 2: 01.04.2022
SMOKE & SALT, TOOTING
Was great to follow the Coal Rooms collab with another modern, neighbourhood restaurant at the top of their game for seasonality and simplicity - Smoke & Salt in Tooting Broadway. When we approached them with the collab Remi knew exactly what pizza he wanted to make - a riff on one of their best selling dishes: Cripsy potatoes, Ox heart, Chimichirri & Gorgonzola. How could we say no to that? We did swap the ox heart for pastrami though, with Remi's blessing obviously. We also had great fun riffing on another hugely popular dish from their cookbook. Seriously, get the cookbook.
